How We Help

When you contact us, a trained team member performs a quick triage of your pet’s symptoms and advises whether to come in now or book a same-day urgent visit. Walk-ins are welcome during clinic hours; completing our online intake form speeds check-in.

At your visit

  1. Triage & pain relief – We stabilize your pet and prioritize comfort.
  2. Exam & testing – An emergency veterinarian performs a full exam and, if needed, in-house tests (bloodwork, X-ray, urinalysis, cytology).
  3. Plan & estimate – We review findings, discuss options, and provide a clear, written estimate before treatment.
  4. Same-evening discharge – Most pets go home the same night with medications and home-care instructions. If overnight ICU is required, we coordinate a smooth transfer to a 24-hour hospital and update your primary care veterinarian.

Payment options: We accept major credit cards, CareCreditScratchpay, and cash.

If your pet needs after-hours urgent care in San Diego, call (858) 379-6550—we’ll guide you step-by-step and get your pet comfortable fast.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Should I go to an emergency animal hospital or visit Urgent Care Pet Clinic?

Urgent Care Pet Clinic (UCPC) treats dogs and cats with stable—but time-sensitive—medical problems such as vomiting, minor wounds, allergic reactions, and limping. If your pet is unconscious, bleeding heavily, or having seizures, head straight to a 24-hour emergency vet. Not sure which option fits? Call our San Diego urgent-care triage line and a nurse will advise you in minutes.

Yes, we have vaccines on-site; however, our primary focus is urgent and after-hours veterinary care. Let our team know if your pet is due for vaccines—when time permits, the veterinarian can add them to the same visit. For annual check-ups, we recommend scheduling with your daytime family veterinarian.

Absolutely. We provide compassionate end-of-life care, quality-of-life assessments, and peaceful pet euthanasia in a quiet room. Our veterinary team will discuss medical findings, pain-management options, and after-care (cremation or burial) so you can make the best decision for your family.

Walk-ins and same-day drop-offs are always welcome during our extended evening hours (5 PM – 11 PM, six days a week). For the shortest wait time, call ahead or book a same-day slot online—this lets us prepare the treatment room so your pet is seen even faster.
